Main Campus and Health Sciences Center Permits

A Permit

May be purchased by staff and faculty who are at least 0.75 FTE with benefits. For exceptions, please call us. Allows parking in "A," "U," and "E" stalls.

Can be used to park in unmetered visitor/patient parking stalls at University Hospital after 2 p.m.

Cost: $264.00

Payroll Deduction: $11.00/pay period

U Permit

May be purchased by anyone who is affiliated with the University. Can only be used to park in "U" and "E" stalls.

Can park in most "A" stalls that are posted "U" after 3 p.m. Watch for signs that tell you which stalls are exceptions to this rule.

Can be used to park in unmetered visitor/patient parking stalls at the University Hospital after 2 p.m.

Cost: $132.00

Payroll Deduction: $5.50/pay period

E Permit

May be purchased by anyone affiliated with the University. Can be used to park in "E" stalls only.

Can park in most "U" stalls that are posted "E" after 3 p.m. Watch for signs that tell you which stalls are exceptions.

Cost: $66.00

Payroll Deduction: $2.75/pay period

M Permit

Sold to anyone affiliated with the University who wishes to park a motorcycle on campus. Can be purchased at half price if you've already purchased an annual automobile permit.

Motorcycles must be parked in designated motorcycle pads around campus. They can also be parked in regular vehicle stalls, provided the appropriate A, U, or E permit is displayed.
Motorcyclists who work at the Health Sciences Center may park in the garages but only in the crosshatched areas in the corners marked motorcycle parking.

Cost: $36.00

Payroll Deduction: $1.50/pay period

D Permit

Selected parking spaces have been designated for drivers with disabilities. Applicants for a "D" permit must provide written proof of their disability from their physician. Parking stalls for disabled drivers are also located in the pay lots and the University Hospital garage and are reserved for visitors to the University and University Hospital. Visitor parking fees may apply in the pay lots unless special permission is obtained from the Office of Disabled Student Services.

Sold to any student or employee who has a medically certified disability.

Allowed in disabled parking stalls except those marked for disabled visitors. These permits also allow for parking in any "A," "U," or "E" stall and, as a last resort, meters for up to two hours without paying.

State-issued disabled permits are valid only for campus visitors. If you are a member of the University community, you must have a "D" permit.

Temporary disabled permits are issued on an as-needed basis. Contact Commuter Services for information on how to obtain a temporary disabled permit.

Payroll Deduction: $5.50/pay period

R Permit

Reserved stalls are marked with a number which allows only the stall owner to park there. Extended-hour reserved stalls are enforced from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Twelve-hour reserved stalls are enforced from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Available to full-time faculty and staff.

May also park in "A," "U," or "E" stalls but only one vehicle is permitted to park on campus using the reserved permit. Other vehicles on campus at the same time must display the proper permit for the lot they are parking in during those hours when permit parking is enforced, or have a valid day pass.
Reserved stalls in the Health Sciences Center covered parking garages are reserved 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

   $1,232.00 - 12 hour permit
   $1,540.00 - Extended hour permit

   $51.33/pay period - 12 hour permit
   $64.16/pay period - Extended hour permit

Semester Permits

Semester permits are sold for the Fall Semester only. After the Fall Semester, we sell regular "U" and "E" permits for the remainder of the academic year at a prorated cost.

Health Sciences Center Permits

In addition to the permits listed above, employees working at the Health Sciences Center may also purchase permits for the parking garages. Based on where they work, "T" permits come in various categories:

HCI (Huntsman Cancer Institute) - T Permit

Stalls are controlled by the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the Moran Eye Center, and Commuter Services.
Can park in the HCI garage only, plus "A," "U," and "E" stalls.

South Garage - T Permit

Can only park in the south garage plus "A," "U," and "E" stalls.

Helipad garage - T Permit

Can park in the helipad garage only, plus "A," "U," and "E" stalls.

Terrace Disabled - DT Permit

In addition to the main campus "D" permit, a "DT" permit is available for those who qualify for the "D" permit and "T" permit.
