Day Passes

If you're visiting the University for only one or two days, a day pass may be your best option. It can be purchased on the day you wish to use it or bought in advance. It allows a visitor to park on campus for one day in "A," "U," or "E" lots. The cost per day depends on where you wish to park. It is not valid at meters or in pay lots.

Day passes are available at Commuter Services or at pay lot booths. A day pass must display the date of the day it is being used in order to be valid. Call us at 801-581-6415 for further assistance.

You can also purchase a day pass from a machine in the northeast corner in the West Stadium Lot, on parking levels 1 and 2 in the South Campus Drive Terrace and west side of Guardsman Way lot. Day passes are valid only in the lot in which they are purchased. Cost is $5 before noon and $2 thereafter and $1 in the Guardsman Way Lot.

Temporary permits

A temporary permit is similar to a day pass but may be used for several consecutive days. Although it is designed primarily for visitors, new employees may be eligible for a temporary permit until they have attended new employee orientation.

Other state university faculty/administrator parking.

Regular permits from Utah State University, Weber State University, Brigham Young University, and Salt Lake Community College will be honored for occasional parking in most University of Utah lots. They are not valid in pay lots or at meters.

Vehicles displaying valid, current student parking permits from the institutions listed above are allowed to park in Lots 23, 24 "E" area, 32 and 75 (Virginia Tanner Dance, Ballif Hall, East Merill and East of Fort Douglas) on an occasional basis. They are not valid in pay lots or at meters. All other parking restrictions must be observed. Students who are currently enrolled at the University of Utah must purchase a parking permit.

Faculty, staff, and students from other universities and colleges who are also registered as students at the University of Utah must have a current parking permit.
